I am after a new graphics card for my PC, as mine is a little weak for my liking.
My current system is: A dell Dimension 5100 – 3.0ghz Pentium 4, 1.50gb of ram (ddr i believe) 80gb hard drive. The current graphics card is an ati x300 se 128mb hypermemory pci-e.
I have been looking at either this or something of a similar price range.
It would be great if I could get a better card than that one for a similar price
, it doesnt have to be ati either, although they are what i’ve always had.
The benchmark I want is to be able to play things like half life 2, fear, command and conquer – tiberium wars etc on full detail, cos at the mins I play them on low/medium. I would like s-video out too, as I hunted for an s-video cable for weeks and got one nice and cheap lol.
Cheers for any suggestions
David.
I came across this earlier today, It’s not clear yet whether it is real or faked, howeve I for one hope it is fake. I think if you take a game as good as Halo and put it on the now ancient GBA you would make a mockery of the game. What I will say though, if this was to come out for the DS I would be highly interested, incidentally, I did hear a rumour about a DS version, but it seems to have been faked.
here’s a link, cos the video is a bit flakey…
Halo GBA
I’ve recently got the PC game The Movies (with its expansion). It runs along the lines of the sims, you have to manage a film production company, which involves Hiring/Firing actors and crew, writing scripts, organising stunts and building sets. I’ve made quite a few films now (none of which have had a great boxoffice impact)
I decided to steal a concept for some success. I tried to remake the matrix trilogy. I couldnt get it to work in an embedded player, I’ll have to speak to my technical support
Anyway here is my effort…
A mate passed this video to me, this is a perfect example of how to take something too seriously. They are all sat there making battle plans etc. and some guy just runs in and wrecks it all. Keep listening for the number crunching ![]()
One word: LEEEEEEROOOOY
Here’s another game I got yesteday. I’ve been playing the sims for years and years, I’ll also own up to the fact that I have every version it (15 of the top of my head I think). Slightly similar to Football Manager its all about management, only different type. The point of this is to manage a Family and a Household. Harmless fun really, but thats all it is just for fun. I must be getting older and wiser because I dont play The Sims half as much as I used to, but then again, I’m still getting every version. Maybe I’ll never grow out of it
Got this yesterday, I am a massive fan of last seasons version and indeed all the other versions. I’ve spent many hours trying to win the Champions League with Newcastle Utd As it turns happens, it’s no easier in the fictional world of FM than it is in real life ![]()
Anyway about the game, It has (according to the press release) hundreds of new features (most of which you might never come across). The team talks are more in depth, the scouting system has changed and player interaction has increased, to name a few.
The game is as good as ever, and in a lot of ways much much better. My main criticism is that Newcastle have a stupidly low transfer budget, so if you want to be them, you’re basically writing off the first season as you have no money to do anything. Of course you have Chelsea’s mega millions if you just want a laugh.
I would say go get this game asap, it’s by far the best football management sim around!
